This R32 is running a 24V 3.2L stock engine producing 240 h.p.  There were not many of these Mark 4 gen. cars brought to the United States so its rare to see one around.  The car is known for being fast and having excellent handling features.  The owner brought it to TW for some required engine maintenance.  The timing chains and water pump need replaced.  While the tranny was out,  it was determined that the clutch should be replaced as well.  Yes, the tranny has to be removed in order to access the timing chains.

A steel supports was designed and used to hold the engine while the tranny was removed. What a great idea!

Shown below is the aftermarket skid plate and mounts.  I put a yellow sticker on the mount brackets so you can see there location on the frame.   Take note on the skid plate and how well it has held up protecting the under carriage.

The water pump will also be replaced.  Its started showing signs of leakage so it better to replace it now than out on the road.
