Concept drawings by Benny Maxwell, C5 suspension, C5 transaxle, custom Throttle Works frame, and lots and lots of LS power.
Here is a quick setup on how the truck will layout. Notice the arched steel pieces, they will be used to mount the cab to the frame.
Frame fabrication is in full swing. We decided to build a perimeter frame that facilitates the roll cage in the cab.
Lucky enough, the crew at TW had access to a 5th generation Corvette to measure the dimensions to assist in the build of "Torn". Below are several pictures of the build on the front suspension.
The cab has been blasted to remove the old paint.
Notice the precision setup between the frame, front suspension and body panels. Everything must line up exactly for the perfect match and alignment.
Also they have to keep in mind the frame will need to be altered in preparation for the driveline and bell housing to go thru.
The front suspension mounts are being designed and tack welded onto the frame. Notice the engine mounts to the front suspension and then the suspension mounts to the frame.
The frame is being marked in order for it be cut out for the torque tube
